What are the basic causes of urinary infection

Urinary infection

When you’re over-doing your job, when you’re tired, and when you don’t have the energy to move around - it can be very tempting to just go for a drink. However, this is not always good practice as many of us are under more pressure than we should be and we could be contributing to the spread of infections - especially if a person is carrying an infection they already have. So, let’s talk about what the basic causes of urinary infections are.

Basic causes of infection

1) Urine contamination:

This is one of those things which we all know and do without being aware of. If urine becomes so dirty or unclean that it actually smells bad then there might be bacteria present as well. You are just telling yourself not to get too worried as this is most likely due to poor hygiene.

2) Urinary tract infection:

Urine doesn’t become harmful after a few days, but does carry some bacteria - mainly Proteins. The bacteria in your bladder will infect that area of your body. It is a condition that occurs whenever urine is not cleaned properly and bacteria can pass through it into your body. Sometimes even this happens to people who have no symptoms at all. It may be caused by taking antibiotics and/or using certain other medications.

3) Irritable bowel syndrome and its associated colon pain:

A person with IBS may also experience abdominal discomfort and bloating. These conditions often occur together. People with IBS are advised to take antidepressants or anti-depressants to help ease their symptoms while still controlling the bacteria in their gut. They should exercise regularly to keep them active and also avoid any foods that may upset their gastrointestinal system.

4) Diarrhea:

There is a link between indigestion and diarrhea. Bacteria in our intestinal tracts are responsible for making sense of the nutrients we take in - for example, milk contains lactose. But since we can’t digest cow’s milk, if we are feeling unwell then we do get diarrhea. This is often due to a lack of protein, or because we have an un-arranged metabolism. One of the major factors that contribute to getting diarrhea is not enough calories in our diets and the excess amount of fat in our bodies.

5) Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID):

As a result of the inflammation of women’s genital organs, this is known medically as PID - Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. It happens when bacteria become inflamed, which can affect your uterus. This can happen for reasons such as sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and stress.

6) Vaginal yeast infection (VYI):

Viruses can cause bacterial infections in the vagina. Such infections include chlamydia and gonorrheal infections. In addition, there are bacteria that live on the skin, but once this skin has been touched by someone then these bugs can infect the vaginas.

How to treat UTIs

It can be difficult to tackle UTIs on their own, so you need to seek medical attention from qualified professionals. Fortunately, with early treatment, if you have an infected UTI then antibiotics can easily be prescribed and taken as soon as possible. Antibiotics can sometimes work against dangerous bacteria and other types of infections, so they are usually the best treatment available. Furthermore, it’s important that any antibiotics taken should be used in combination with antibiotics for another type of infection if necessary. For instance, if your doctor recommends antibiotics to treat a urinary infection, then you should use antibiotic tablets that contain both antibiotics and a second, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug to treat the UTI.

If you have had UTIs you should consider trying acupuncture and massage therapy too. Depending on how severe the symptoms got, you may need to continue antibiotics and other treatments like vitamins and supplements. And when it comes to UTIs in men, a lot of men can develop VYDs (Vaginal Yeast Infections). You need to be careful about taking over-the-counter medicines on a regular basis as they can make things worse. This includes prescription vitamins (such as vitamin C or B complex) as these can worsen symptoms. In addition, some men may be able to relieve themselves of vaginal itching and reduce the risk of developing an infection.

If UTIs are not dealt with promptly, then these can lead to more serious infections. Therefore, it’s vital to know what we can do in order to prevent infections by keeping urination at bay if any bacteria are present.
