Nutritional value of olive oil
The original form of olive oil was cultivated by the
Romans and the Greeks. During Roman times the Greek word “Oliver” means olive
plant. So as well as olive oil we know today we also have olive trees and their
relatives which are the olive seed and oil fruit trees. These plants are not
edible themselves so when we want to make our food look good we use them by
feeding these plants edible items, especially when we have extra time. When
the harvest season comes around there will be more olive seeds, oil pods, and
leaves which are usually cut, dried, and sold to farmers and people who need the
extra yield of olive nuts and olive oil. They are very important because they
take a lot of water out of the soil into the crops and turn it into liquid
nutrients which give rise to many kinds of food such as salad dressings,
sauces, cheeses, soups, and bread. (For further reading about this article we
will go over the history of olive cultivation and how the olive seed is made and
sold) Also, when we buy the olive seed oil and olive harvest, we add this to
other foods we eat to create an even bigger nutritious meal instead of adding
extra calories, sugar, and fat to those dishes.
When olive oil is consumed and used many different types
of additives like palm kernel oil and sunflower hulls are added which improves
the flavor and nutritional value which makes the olive oil so versatile and
great to add to any dish you think that it will taste or not. It isn't
just olive oil, but the other various types of oils such as avocado oil, coconut
oil, and canola oil are not only beneficial to our health, but to our
environment too and to be able to keep our planet clean. There is plenty of
resources and information about eating healthier. We should learn about what
olive oil has been doing for thousands of years to help support our world by
creating a sustainable future. This can be achieved through educating ourselves
on the ingredients, health benefits and how to use them, the process of making
olive oil, how to buy olive oil, and why olive oil is healthy so we all can
benefit. Our main goal is to reduce the amount of oil used in our daily cooking
and the number of fats and carbohydrates used. Along with reducing the
consumption of oil as much as possible and the amounts of salt and sugar used
while preparing meals. If we ate less meat and cheese then our diet would
change and we would no longer be producing excess carbon dioxide which is one
of the causes of global warming and climate change. So this is why olive oil is
crucial to our diets, we just need to cook with less oil and also cut back on
our intake of processed foods, sweets and fast foods.
Nutritional value of olive oil
Olive oil is most commonly used to make salads, soups, and
sauces. But other uses are as a cooking wax on vegetables and for flavoring
products. For example, some recipes include a bottle of olive oil as a garnish
to your recipe and we add it to our pasta sauce as a dressing on top of the
noodles so the noodle is crispy without having to heat up first. A bottle of
olive oil is a must in my kitchen in every recipe I make. Although when using
olive oil to make a dessert, for example, when we cut strawberries apart, we add
a couple of drops of olive oil to each slice and put the mix together to bake
until the berries come out of the mixture. All of this goes to show how easy it
is to prepare dishes out of olive oil without having to use anything else
except olive oil for cooking. Not only does olive oil is economical to make but
it is also extremely healthy and if used correctly it will give your meals a
nutritional boost. My favorite way to use olive oil is making olive butter, as
a spread on sandwiches or as a dip in sandwiches or pasta sauces. Also, olive
oil contains omega-3 fatty acids that are a type of polyunsaturated carboxylic
acid and are a supplement of healthy fats. As well as helping fight heart
disease and stroke. Olive oil should be used sparingly, in moderation and to
balance everything out so we don’t overuse it.
