Bitcoin (BTC) is the most popular cryptocurrency, but it also remains the largest “market capitalization” to date. The total market cap of cryptocurrency is calculated by dividing a token’s volume (supply) – which is also called it's supply – by your total amount of tokens, usually in ETH. For example: if you have an Ethereum wallet that has two coins — one for ETH and another for BTC, the market cap will be equal to the following:

Bitcoin Market caps and values according to the last four months Decentraland Total Market Capitalization BTC 100,000 ETH 90,000 1,000,000 0.1 = 1,000,000 ETH (BTC) 95,000 ETH 130,000 1,000,000 0.1 = 1,000,000 ETH(BTC) 110,000 ETH 180,000 1,000,000 0.1 = 1,000,000 ETH Bitcoin Market cap at year end 2021

As seen above, Bitcoin continues to be the largest cryptocurrency on earth followed by Ethereum. It is expected that more tokens would be added to this list in the near future, which can become larger depending on how much of a public and private project is included. One of the main reasons for such projects is that they tend to use new technologies and processes that are not used by many cryptocurrencies at the moment. This makes them more attractive to investors. Some examples of such issues include decentralization, smart contracts, mining, power, and security protocols. Such aspects help increase their value in the long run, while making those companies capable of creating an impressive industry worldwide. Moreover, as shown in Table 2, the total number of people using Bitcoin currently is about half of the global population (about 600 million) according to data from Coindesk.
