Nutritional value of watermelon
If we talk about watermelon, what kinds of watermelon
are there? We can’t call it a ‘watermelon’ without any watermelon, so why do
people think that? To make some basic definitions, watermelon is a type of
melon, and it comes from the genus Musa (Watermelons). There are two species of
watermelon grown in North America; Red Delicious Watermelon named R.
persicum L., and Blue Sweet Watermelon named B. melons L.
There are many varieties of watermelon today, such as blue
sweet watermelon and red delicious watermelon, which are very popular nowadays.
It’s a very healthy fruit to have, not only because of its nutritional value, but also because people like a drink called cold melon juice. In addition, this
article explains the most important features & benefits of watermelon;
What Is A Watermelon?
Watermelon is a very nutritious fruit, it has high nutrition
content, so you should eat one or more watermelon per day at least once or
twice a week. However, we should avoid drinking watermelon juices, and if you
are allergic, you can buy raw/unripe watermelon.
Nutrition facts – 1 cup of watermelon contains 4.6 g of
carbohydrates, 2 g of fiber, 3 g of protein, 6 g of fat, 3 g of calcium, 20 g
of phosphorus, 8 g of potassium, 12 g of sodium, 5 g of sugar and 7 g of dietary
fiber.
Watermelon Nutrition Facts: Watermelon has a moderate
amount of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, a small number of minerals, and low
levels of sodium. How much watermelon is enough for a daily requirement? One
cup of fresh watermelon contains 0.9 oz of carbohydrates, 0.4 oz of fiber, 2
grams of protein (2.5% of total calories), 7 grams of fat, 1 gram of protein
(5%), and 9 grams of dietary fiber, and 17 grams of sugar. And according to my
personal health goals, I would prefer to have a minimum of three cups of
watermelon every day. For our reference, having three cups means a total of
four servings of watermelon. If having less than three cups, you can consume
three cups only. According to my personal diet plan, watermelon should be eaten
only on special occasions, so there should not be more than one watermelon per
occasion. This will help to prevent watermelon allergy. Does Watermelon contain
pesticides also? Yes! If you want to purchase organic fruits and vegetables,
please try different ways of buying them. You can choose from free-cycle
watermelon seeds and you can try other products, not only that, you can get
Organic Fresh Tomato & Pesto from Fresh Grown Tomatoes. Another way is just
by using frozen tomatoes when possible and trying different ways. So I don’t
recommend purchasing canned watermelon seeds. That is simply not beneficial.
How does watermelon grow? Watermelon is one of the most widely cultivated crops
in Asia and Africa. The cultivation of this plant dates back more than 100
years. About 100 years ago, a large area was used as a field and a vineyard
where crops such as watermelon, rice, and cabbage were planted by European
settlers. Today, there are over 250 acres dedicated to watermelon production
across the United States, making this one of the largest single producers of
watermelon seedlings in the country. On average, it takes an individual
seedling around 50 years to reach full ripening before harvesting. During the
growing cycle, the harvest is completed within 8-10 months. When watermelon
goes ripe, the flowering pods usually sprout from an underground root ball and
produce watermelon fruits, depending on the variety. The leaves are often used
to make watermelon skins. According to my personal experience: I love eating a
big watermelon right now without feeling sore & when it is ripe, it
tastes very good. As mentioned above, all the nutrients are stored inside these
capsules. Also, these capsules are absorbed deep into a person’s body. Why
should I eat watermelon? Why watermelon? Because of its beautiful yellow color,
you can see almost anything (especially the outside side) through the
translucent skin. It is said that this vegetable actually grows in a dark
environment, which makes it glow. The white color of watermelon is due to the
chlorophyll present in its green stem. Therefore, watermelon is said to be a
cool-climate crop. Nowadays, farmers around the world are cultivating
watermelon plants in order to reduce their carbon emissions. Watermelon
cultivation around the globe reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 70% and
reduces global warming. Here is the list of watermelon cultivation around the
world: Asia: China
Japan
South Korea
Australia

South America: Brazil

In spite of some controversies, watermelon cultivation is
still going well in the United States. Even though the growth of watermelon
plants has slowed down, it’s difficult to grow this plant. Watermelon is
considered to be a climate-friendly crop. But if watermelon needs water for
irrigation, they need watermelon seedlings, otherwise, watermelon seedlings will
die quickly and cannot survive for long. Therefore, the plant itself needs
water (in most cases water that comes from the soil). Due to the fact that soil
can’t contain water very well, watermelon seedlings need to find another place
to go; they need to take root somewhere to stay for a while, and then they need
to find new areas to sleep in. Also, watermelon is drought-sensitive, and
therefore, watermelon seedlings cannot sustain themselves in harsh environments
such as deserts or mountains. But after certain conditions, the watermelon
seedlings can tolerate themselves in the harsh environment and become
successful again. How Many Leaves Does Each Flower Have? Every leaf of
watermelon has 25 leaves. They are very sturdy, therefore, watermelon leaves
cannot be cut easily (except for a few leaves). These leaves are sometimes used
to make paper towels or soap. Watermelon leaves are usually bigger than
watermelon flowers. However, this kind of watermelon flower leaves is mostly
used for decorative purposes, therefore, they look pretty. What Are The
Benefits of Eating Them? Everyone knows how much watermelon looks tasty &
nutritious; however, it has to be told a secret. People don’t know the
real reason why people love watermelon. The main ingredient is citrulline
which is found in watermelon leaves themselves. Citrulline is a carboxylate and
amino acid derived from various amino acids in animals and plants. Citrulline can
inhibit dehydration on the surface of watermelon leaves. It is important for
watermelon leaves in order to keep their water levels stable, thus the name citrulline and watermelon. Moreover, citrulline is useful for controlling
nausea and is useful for treating depression, stomach problems such as
indigestion or heartburn, and can be a treatment for diarrhea. Furthermore,
citrulline can stop and prevent kidney stones, and it can also help with weight
loss as watermelon contains lots of citrullines. Also, it can
regulate blood pressure and relieve inflammation in the muscles. Along with
citrulline, watermelon has plenty of protein in it too, which helps your body
to absorb watermelon better. Also, watermelon is rich in vitamin C and other
vitamin E which all can help protect you against free radicals, which are
harmful chemicals produced under the sun and air pollution. Besides, watermelon
contains vitamins A, C, and E and thiamine which can help improve energy levels
and promote brain function. All of those important nutrients will help to
prevent obesity, diabetes, and other serious illnesses associated with excess
weight and fat. Watermelon contains a large number of minerals, including iron,
potassium, and manganese, which will prevent the accumulation of extra fat in
the pancreas, liver, and other organs and therefore, the symptoms of
cardiovascular diseases. It is better if you eat a little bit of watermelon
each time you are suffering from stomach problems such as bad breath.
